Previously she served as Dean and Vice-President, at Soka University in Tokyo, with the distinction of being the first female and first non- Japanese in these roles. She was inducted in the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame in 2010 and awarded a Congressional Commendation for her contribution to education. Maria is a published author, her most recent book is titled, Global Leadership and Sustainable Futures (Emerald Press, 2025). Additional leadership positions include serving as Executive Director for Denver Mayor’s Office for Education and Children as well as Assets for Colorado Youth, a statewide organization. <h3>This camp is for high school students looking for a space to connect with others who care about making a positive change in the world and want to learn more on how to do it in their own communities. Throughout the week, campers will travel around Denver, learning from community leaders - past, present, and future - and begin to develop their own understanding for how they can make a difference authentically. Along with hands-on activities – art, play, and more; campers will explore topics related to community, resilience, and changemaking. This camp will spark inspiration no matter where you are in your leadership journey. </h3>

<p>We will move around the Denver Metro Area throughout the camp, meeting &amp; working with different community organizations, visiting cultural centers, and exploring different parts of the city through hands-on learning. Every day will start and end at the CIRCLE Office. </p>
<h3>What is the COVID-19 vaccination requirement?</h3>
<p>All campers &amp; staff are required to be COVID-19 vaccinated in order to participant. </p>
<h3>Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?</h3>
<p>STAMP Camp in the City is for high school students (9 - 12th grade).</p>
<h3>What can I bring into the event?</h3>
<p>We will send a short list prior to camp. We always suggest bringing a water bottle, light jacket, and to wear comfortable clothing &amp; shoes. </p>
<h3>What are my transport/parking options getting to the camp?</h3>
<p>Transportation to and from ‘homebase’ (the CIRCLE Office) is up to camper. There is free parking where the CIRCLE Office is located. All transportation will be provided once at CIRCLE. </p>

<h4><strong>Starting Jan. 11th, 2025 through March 10th, 2025</strong></h4><p>CIRCLE’s STAMP Youth Leadership Intensive is a unique certification training program that offers a deeper dive into leadership development and skill building for a select cohort of young leaders in Denver. For eight weeks, students will engage in meaningful dialogue and content rich activities that will strengthen their understanding of social justice leadership from the lens of CIRCLE’s core elements — <strong>Ancestral Wisdom, Community Action, Intentional Connection, and Youth Leadership. </strong><strong><br /></strong></p>
<p><strong>You will receive a Youth Leadership Certificate upon completing this 36 hour training program.<br /></strong></p>
<p><strong><br /></strong>Selected students must register by Dec. 31st to ensure their spot. <strong><br /></strong></p>

Each day will be filled with games, learning from community members, and opportunities for students to discover more about themselves as leaders. Through this camp, Campers will learn the basics of being in an inclusive community, being thoughtful and communicative in intentional ways. </h3>

Campers will meet with Denver community leaders ranging from government officials, community organizations, and local artists. Throughout the camp, campers will build community with each other through hands-on learning activities, art projects, fun games and team building. This camp is for those who want to dive into more of the social justice world in a hands-on way. </strong><br /> </p>
<p>Campers will meet with local Denver community leaders, build community with fellow campers through Mini-Golf, Art Projects, other fun activities, and strengthen their skills in public-speaking/civil engagement, through listening and problem-solving.<br /><br /><br />What's Included?</p>

<h3>This Camp is for <strong><span style="color:rgb(192, 80, 77)">SELECT students entering 11th grade to just graduated</span></strong> who want to reflect on their own leadership style and self. They will share and build upon on what they have learned through STAMP to feel prepared for their next chapter in life. During this camp we will escape the city to better connect and focus on self – self awareness, self love, and interpersonal communication. At CIRCLE we try to lean into the idea of self care, without taking care of self, how can we continue to take care of our communities? This camp is more of an opportunity for our committed STAMPers, and as a thank you and farewell. This program will support campers through transformational leadership opportunities while  affirming their understanding of identity and self, no matter what changes they face.</h3>

<p><strong>Dr. Ramona Beltrán (she/her/hers/ella | Yaqui/Mexica)</strong>,<a rel="nofollow" rel="nofollow" href="https://socialwork.du.edu/about/gssw-directory/ramona-beltran"> Associate Professor at the University of Denver</a>. Dr. Beltrán, MSW, PhD is a Xicana of Yaqui and Mexica descent and dancer/activist/scholar. As an Associate Professor at the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work, her scholarship is committed to interrupting legacies of historical trauma that affect Indigenous and Latinx communities with a commitment to addressing issues facing LGBTQ and Two Spirit communities. She focuses on disrupting the problem-focused approach to understanding Indigenous/Latinx health that dominates mainstream research. She does this through centering culture in knowledge production with and for Indigenous/Latinx communities.<strong><br /></strong></p>
<p><strong>Regina Jackson (she/her/hers),</strong> <a rel="nofollow" rel="nofollow" href="https://www.race2dinner.com/">Co-Founder of Race To Dinner</a>. Regina was born in Chicago in 1950 Regina remembers an America where everything was in Black and white. Burned into her memory are; the beatings and horrific treatment of civil rights workers throughout the south, the Goodman, Chaney &amp; Schwerner murders, the murder of Viola Liuzzo, the murder of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the murders of President John Kennedy and his brother Robert. The violence perpetrated on innocent people going about their lives, by white people. It is these memories that drive Regina to push for real change in America. Which is why she co-founded Race 2 Dinner.</p>
<p><strong>Norma Johnson (she/her/hers)</strong>,<a rel="nofollow" rel="nofollow" href="https://allinspirit.com/about/"> Founder of All in Spirit</a>. Norma is a spiritual healer, speaker, writer-poet-playwright, performance artist and facilitator that brings a creative background into her distinctive presentation form of social justice education and activism. Norma collaborates with a dynamic range of organizations, institutions, faith communities, arts, civic groups, and educational forums such as the highly regarded Annual White Privilege Conference. Her deeply moving poems are featured in racial justice courses taught by educators across the country. Abuelita's Tiendita (vendor)</strong>, came to life thanks to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Co-founder and namesake, Abuelita, was worried about losing her housekeeping job during the pandemic. So she started a side hustle of selling face masks, bought from Mexico, at an emerging outdoor market. During that time, Abuelita realized lots of artisans in Mexico were struggling due to the lack of tourism and they were unable to sell their handmade goods which helped support their livelihood. At this point, Abuelita had already recruited a couple of family members to help her with her outdoor market stand. That’s when we came up with the idea of importing Artisan handmade goods so we could help the artisans stay in business during this tough time and also to share our Mexican culture through their folk art.

This camp provides foundational understanding and language for young people who are ready to take action &amp; make progress in inclusive, intentional ways. A perfect camp for young people wanting to get more involved with STAMP and be a high school leader for the Fall STAMP Conference! </p><p>Campers will visit the historic Lincoln Hills, explore how communities around Denver have sparked change, build skills to actually make a difference, and make friends with peers passionate about social justice. <br /></p>

This ticket is for your camper's spot for 2022 STAMP Camp Rising for 9th & 10th graders. Ticket includes all camp meals, snacks, activities, and transportation throughout the day.

<h4><strong>This shared experience will bring community members together for an interactive, contemplative,
    collective gathering. We encourage attendees to listen and learn from national healers, incredible local speakers,
    and each other. You are invited to bring your voice and begin in a shared healing
    process. </strong></h4>

Attendees can purchase tickets to the CIRCLE Café for $110, with a sliding scale rate available for BIPOC attendees. Your ticket includes access to:</h3>
<ul><li>Morning &amp; Afternoon Speaker Table-Talks; </li><li>Mid-Day Intimate Talking-Circles centered around specific
    themes related to healing; </li><li>A shared lunch; </li><li>Collective close &amp;
    celebration!! </li></ul>

  Dr. Yuria Celidwen, PhD, a native of Indigenous Nahua and Maya descent who works at the intersection of Indigenous
      studies, cultural psychology, and contemplative science. Her interdisciplinary work investigates the embodied
      experience of self-transcendence in world contemplative and Indigenous traditions in the way it enhances prosocial
      behavior. She emphasizes the reclamation, revitalization, and transmission of Indigenous wisdom and the
      advancement of Indigenous and planetary rights.

CIRCLE 2022 Café: Healing in the NOW

We encourage white attendees to attend this day of care. We will explore actionable steps white folx can take to 'walk the talk', be genuine allies in racial equity, and do their part to make the world a better place. As a form of restitution, we invite you to consider adding an additional donation below from $20-50 to support the ticket cost of BIPOC attendees.

CIRCLE strives to make all its events accessible to all, to do this we provide various financial assistance. Support our efforts of accessibility by adding a donation to support the cost of another attendee's ticket.

This event is designed by and for BIPOC communities ready to begin healing from past harms, wounds, and leave with practices of resilience and self love.  Join us at a pay what you can rate, we do ask you pay a minimum of $25.

<h3><strong>STAMP stands for Students Taking Action and Making Progress. </strong></h3>
<p>The STAMP Conference is a CIRCLE program created and led by high school students for 7th &amp; 8th grade middle school students to begin discussing social justice-related issues they see and experience in their daily lives. This conference is a great entry point for students to learn more about themselves and develop the tools needed to build more inclusive, responsive communities at their individual schools.</p>
<p>Our STAMP high school student leaders have been working hard to develop their workshops for your students and are eager to share. This year the STAMP workshops topics will explore issues related to racism, spirituality, classism, gender &amp; sexuality, art-ivism, and health. This experience will connect diverse students together, in inclusive, open spaces to authentically share, discuss, and explore important topics that directly impact them. </p>
